Indore: Indore would be the second city in the country to run electric buses this month. The contract for building electric bus was given to TATA a couple of days back and the proposed model of electric bus was shared by the AiCTSL (Atal Indore City Transport Service Limited) on Friday.

These electric buses will run on five major routes of the city. Sharing details about it, AiCTSL PRO Mala Thakur said, “The electric bus has 32 seats with AC, CCTV cameras and public information system.” Since the bus requires charging ports, the routes have been decided based on their recharging booths, which is likely to be setup in AiCTSL office. “The battery will have a fast charger, so we can expect the bus to charge in 30 minutes that would make running the bus feasible,” Mala said.

Proposed routes of electric bus

Railway station to Airport, Malwa Mill to Chandan Nagar, Teen Imli to Chanakyapuri, Gangwal to Khajrana, Hawa Bangla to Bandeshwar Kund
