According to the suicide note recovered, Rawat was in a serious relationship with a girl since 2017. The duo were in a serious relationship and wanted to marry each other. In 2022, his girlfriend got posted as a constable in Indore. Soon, she started talking to a fellow officer from Barwani area identified as Anurag Prajapati. Rawat suspected that she had been cheating on him and was not talking to him properly.

One such day, Rawat asked Solanki if he can come to her room which was only 5-7 minutes away from his residence. The girl refused citing a medical situation and urged that she would sleep. Suspicious about the answer, Rawat went to her room without informing her. To his surprise, when he reached Solanki's room, he found his girlfriend with Anurag Prajapati. Heartbroken, he decided to end his life. In the suicide note he named Solanki and Prajapati as the main reasons for his extreme step.
