Sector officers will act as supervisors on the polling day, which is May 19. About 10 to 15 polling booths will be placed under supervision of one sector officer.  Directives to this effect were given at training session of sectors officers held at collectorate on Monday. Collector and district election officer Lokesh Kumar Jatav briefed them about their duties on polling day.

Jatav said sector officers on polling day should ensure that all polling stations should have separate toilets for men and women. Besides, each polling booth will have provision for drinking water, shade, electricity connection, ramps for divyang etc.  These directives follow directions from Election Commission, which has asked district election officers across the country to ensure that each polling booth has all the basic facilities for voters.

Jatav asked sector officers to remain in touch with each other and also with returning officers through WhatsApp group. The sector officers should ensure that there should be no problem in polling.  The sector officers have been asked to make map of their polling stations and short cut routes, which can facilitate their movement. They have also been told to identify vulnerable and critical polling stations. Vulnerable voting centres mean where money can be used to buy votes and where muscle power is at play.  On the polling day, mock poll will be conducted before actual polling.

Standing committee  meet today
The meeting of standing committee of election will be held at collector office on Tuesday. Collector and committee chairman Lokesh Kumar Jatav will brief members of committee about Election Commission instructions.
