Indore: Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) has sought progress reports of PhD students from its research centres after complaints regarding students not doing research work reached the technical university. In an order issued by to research centres, the university administration said the guides of centres should send progress report of PhD students every six months. The centres have also been told to provide attendance of PhD students to the university once in every six months.

The university has set up research centres in many colleges across the state giving them right to enroll PhD students.
But the university had been receiving complaints that the students at these centres are not doing their research seriously.
“We have received complaints likes students not going to the research centre, submitting theses in back date and centre covering-up these acts of students in exchange of few bucks.

Taking note of these complaints, the university directed centres to submit progress report of PhD students in every six months along with their attendance,” a RGPV official said. He stated that the university has right to seek progress report periodically from research centres. “If the colleges doubling up as research centres won’t submit the report, the university can lift the centre from such college,” he added.
