Indore Reverberates With Chants Of ‘Bol Bam’; Thousands Join Baneshwari Kanwar Yatra

Devotees welcomed with flowers and fruit offerings across 300 platforms

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The city witnessed a a spiritual spectacle on Friday as the Baneshwari Kanwar Yatra set off from the western part of Indore, filling the air with powerful chants of “Bol Bam” in honour of Lord Shiva.

Devotees, young and old, walked together, draped in saffron, their faces glowing with devotion and determination. Over 300 welcome stages lined the yatra route with flowers and fruit offerings.

The procession passed through Rau, Rajendra Nagar, Mhow Naka, collectorate, Pandrinath, Rajwada and Marimata, where grand arrangements drew large crowds. MLA Ramesh Mendola joined the walk, carrying a kanwar and raising chants alongside fellow devotees after offering prayers at Annapurna Temple.

A powerful moment of harmony unfolded at Rau’s Patakha Market, where Muslims, led by Ahmed Noor and others, welcomed the yatra with a warm flower shower.

From 7-year-olds to 80-year-olds, everyone walked in faith. The Kanta Phod Mandir committee arranged meals and refreshments for all.

At night, the procession rested at Dwarka Garden near Chanakyapuri, where popular singers turned the venue into a divine dance floor with Shiva bhajans. Five beautifully crafted tableaux added colour and grace.

A unique highlight was the cutting of a special kanwar -themed cake at Rajwada by Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, crafted by BJP worker Suraj Nekiye.

Countless volunteers, social workers and leaders welcomed the yatra with zeal, turning the event into a city-wide celebration of devotion, unity and tradition.
