Indore: Religious functions and festivals to be held indoor; No idol installation in public places

Indore: Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, no religious functions and festivals will be held in public places in Indore.

According to the recent guidelines issued by the Home Department Madhya Pradesh Government for the prevention of coronavirus infection, Manish Singh, Collector and District Magistrate issued necessary instructions on Saturday. Collector has ordered that no religious work and festivals will be held in public places. No religious procession or rally will be taken out. No idol and tableaux etc. will be installed in public places. It is expected from all concerned that they will celebrate the festivals in their own homes.

The Independence Day program will be organized as per the instructions circulated by the state accordingly. Not more than 5 persons will gather in private ceremonies. Also, strict adherence to the standards of face cover and social distancing will need to be ensured.

In the current month, in view of the festivals of Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi and Moharram, a meeting of the District Crisis Management Group will be organized and necessary decisions will be taken after due consideration.
