Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a move to enhance electricity services in suburban and border areas of Indore city, Madhya Pradesh West Zone Electricity Distribution Company has approved additional infrastructure and manpower, with an estimated expenditure of over ₹2.5 crore.

The company has initiated steps to develop six power distribution centres on the lines of urban zones. This will ensure faster complaint redressal and improved consumer satisfaction in the border areas of the city.

According to West Discom superintendent engineer (Indore rural circle) Dr DN Sharma, the nearby areas of the city including Manglia, Paliya, Navda Panth, Bhorasla, Tillore and Hatod will now benefit from enhanced electricity services.

A total of 121 outsourced personnel have been approved for deployment across these areas, along with eight pickup vehicles to operate in all three shifts. The upgrade is expected to drastically improve the speed and efficiency of power supply-related services.

Besides, separate high-voltage sub-divisions have been approved for border areas and Pithampur industrial region. These divisions will be equipped with both manpower and vehicles to ensure swift response and maintenance.

Sharma stated that the sanctioned budget will be used for high and low-voltage line maintenance, improved consumer service operations and faster grievance resolution. These developments are expected to significantly increase consumer satisfaction and reduce the volume of complaints in the long run.
