This is a good chapter and good news for the Indore branch of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICAI). Sixty (fresh) students were selected through campus placement. Companies which offered jobs include TCS, Infosys, ICICI Bank among others.  CA Pankaj Shah, Chairman Indore CA Branch of ICAI, said campus placements were organised on Sunday for newly qualified Chartered Accountants at Indore wherein fresh CAs from across the state appeared and received good offers.

CA Shah said a total of 60 CAs were selected as against 15 last year. This time, the average package offered was Rs 7.66 lakh and the highest package was pegged at Rs 9 lakh. Companies which participated include Ernst and Young, ICICI Bank, Infosys, Wealthtree Advisors, Hindalco, Appollo Tyres, Tata Consultancy services, etc.  Private sector leading bank ICICI Bank selected 18, the highest number of candidates, for different divisions and Infosys hired 13 considering the conceptual understanding of systems by CAs.

CA Kemisha Soni Central council member of ICAI said Committee for Members in Business and Industry introduced the concept of VIRTUAL CFO for recruiters wherein MNCs were persuaded to recruit CAs as CFOs since geographical location is no more relevant as a CA understands global business framework and caters to any work from anywhere. She also said considering the good response, ICAI is again organising campus recruitment for the state-based companies at Indore branch in April wherein interested companies can participate without any fees and recruit CAs.
