Indore: A ‘Run for Tuberculosis’ was organised under TB-Free Indore campaign on Sunday. The run started from Brilliant Convention Centre at 7 am and concluded at Satya Sai Square. More than 150 people participated in the run to raise awareness about TB. Collaboration to Eliminate Tuberculosis among Indians (CETI),
Federation of Family Physician Association of India, Indore Municipal Corporation organised the event. Members of Aerobics Club Meghdoot participated in the event and performed an entertaining sequence of aerobics. Addressing the gathering after the run, CETI programme director Sangeeta Pathak said, “Tuberculosis is an infectious disease that affects lungs.
It is the second biggest killer, globally.” She cited need for raising awareness about treatment of TB and symptoms to identity it. Dr Vinay Chhajlani, Dr Manoj Jain, Dr Vajpayee and Dr Shujalpurkar participated in the run. Aerobics performers were Chhaya Rasal, Bhavna Chaudhary, Neha Chaukse, Jagmohan, Asha Kosta and Dilip Singh.
