Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The state cyber cell is set to arrest the elder brother of a grocery trader already held in connection with a ?22 lakh online fraud case, officials said.

During the investigation following the arrest of Ayush Gupta from his native village in Rajgarh district, officials uncovered transactions worth crores of rupees routed through multiple bank accounts allegedly opened using forged documents.

Cyber cell officials said Ayush’s elder brother, Ankit, was earlier arrested by the Chandigarh Cyber Cell in a separate online fraud case. Preliminary findings indicate his involvement in the present case as well.

Inspector Anju Patel said Ankit will be named in the FIR and brought to Indore on a production warrant after obtaining court permission from Chandigarh.

So far, details of 18 bank accounts linked to the accused have been identified, and verification is underway to ascertain the total volume of transactions.

Ayush was recently arrested from Jirapur village in Rajgarh district in connection with a ?22 lakh fraud targeting a resident of the Tukoganj area in Indore.
