Indore (Madhya Pradesh): National Statistics Day will be celebrated on Wednesday to mark the birth anniversary of great statistician PC Mahalanovis.
Statistics Day will be celebrated by the department of Economics and Statistics, Government of MP and pprogrammes will be organised in the statistics department in the Collector's office. Statistical data has an important role in planning towards sustainable development of the country. Various departments and researchers need statistical data for making various plans and in research.
Therefore, keeping in view the importance of statistical work, National Statistics Day is celebrated every year on 29th June. The state government has also decided to constitute Madhya Pradesh State Statistical Commission to strengthen statistics to promote statistical work.
Premchandra Paraste, joint director Divisional Planning and Statistics, informed that in view of the need and importance of statistical data, continuous efforts are also being made by the Madhya Pradesh State Planning Commission. Efforts are constantly being made to collect statistical data online from all departments. These efforts will lead to radical changes in the future.
