Large numbers of patients with complaints of cardiac problem are facing trouble in Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital as its treadmill test machines are out of order. The number of patients awaiting test on machines is increasing everyday as only one out of four machines is working. Hospital sources said three machines are lying defunct for last one month.

“Two machines are old while parts of one machine were installed in other. Hospital takes six patients for TMT test in a day,” sources said. The cost of TMT test in MY Hospital is Rs 350 but private hospitals charge any amount between Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000 for same test.

“About 100 patients are in queue to get the test done. The test is important for those who have some problem in heart and their ECG report is not normal,” an MYH official said. Hospital superintendent Dr PS Thakur said, “We have asked company officials to check machines and repair them. The machines will be repaired in three days.”
