Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Stressing the need for swift emergency response during the peak summer season, Municipal Commissioner Kshitij Singhal on Thursday said that personnel must keep response time during fire and accident emergencies to a minimum to ensure public safety.
Singhal made the remarks while conducting a surprise inspection of the fire station located at the Gandhi Hall premises. He reviewed the station’s emergency preparedness, manpower deployment, shift management, and operational readiness of firefighting vehicles and equipment.
During the inspection, Singhal checked the attendance register of officers and staff and sought details regarding duty schedules and the availability of fire resources. He instructed officials to ensure that all fire vehicles and emergency equipment remain in fully functional condition at all times.
Highlighting the increased risk of fire incidents during the summer months, Singhal directed fire personnel to remain on continuous alert mode and respond immediately to distress calls. “Public safety should remain the top priority and response time during emergencies must be reduced to the minimum possible level,” he said.
He also instructed officials to conduct regular maintenance and inspection of fire-fighting equipment to ensure effective rescue and relief operations during any disaster situation.
