Indore: Minor girl abducted, raped; accused detained

According to the police, the incident took place on June 1, but the girl was scared of the accused, so she did not tell anyone about it immediately.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A youth was booked for abducting and raping a minor girl in Khudel area, an official said on Sunday. The girl was allegedly held captive in a house in the area. The police have detained the accused, and are questioning him.

According to the Khudel police station staff, a 17-year-old girl and her family members reached the police station and she lodged a complaint that a 35-year-old man allegedly abducted her by enticing her with false promises. He took her to a place where he held her captive and raped her.

According to the police, the incident took place on June 1, but the girl was scared of the accused, so she did not tell anyone about it immediately. Later, she revealed the matter to her family members, and they approached the police. The police have registered a case under various sections, including the POCSO Act and detained the accused. Further investigation is underway.
