Indore (Madhya Pradesh): As Indore Metro enters its third day of operations, authorities have rolled out strict travel guidelines to ensure safety, cleanliness and order during commutes. During the security checks at the Metro station tobacco sachets, matchsticks, pan masala, cigarettes and other such things are removed.

The Indore Metro Rail Corporation has warned that violation of these rules will result in fines or legal action, as necessary.

On Monday, the Metro saw a strong start with the first train departing at 8 AM and it was reported to be fully occupied. Currently, three Metro rakes are operating on the line, with more to be added, based on passenger demand. While crowds were slightly lower than Sunday, a steady stream of passengers was seen at stations throughout the day.

All stations have prominently displayed detailed guidelines to keep passengers informed. Metro officials stressed that discipline and cooperation from the public were essential for the smooth functioning of the system.

A senior Metro official said, “The Metro is for public convenience, but we will not tolerate any nuisance or rule-breaking. Offenders will be fined or prosecuted, depending on the severity of the offence.”
