Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The historic Mashaal Yatra, led by Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, witnessed an overwhelming public response on the martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, observed as Shaheed Diwas. Organized annually for the past 21 years by Mayor Bhargav and Sanghmitra organization, the event once again united the city in remembrance of India’s brave revolutionaries.
The rally, starting from Phooti Kothi and culminating at Mhow Naka, was marked by chants of ‘Inquilab Zindabad’. As many as 100 grand welcome stages had been set up, while more than 40 communities and trade organizations showered flowers on the participants, showcasing deep reverence for the nation’s martyrs.
The Sikh community, known for its indomitable spirit, led from the front, adding a unique energy to the event. With thousands carrying torches, the rally was a spectacle of unity and nationalism. It concluded with a grand Aarti of Bharat Mata, accompanied by tableaux paying tribute to the freedom fighters.
Speaking at the event, Mayor Bhargav emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices of India’s heroes. He said that every citizen should be aware of his legacy. Several prominent figures attended the event, including BJP divisional in-charge Raghavendra Gautam, city president Sumit Mishra, MLAs Ramesh Mendola and Malini Laxman Gaur, former Mayor Krishna Murari Moghe and others.
