Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Markets in Indore will remain closed until 1 PM on December 4 in support of a protest against the persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh.

The Ahilya Chamber of Commerce announced the decision during a meeting on Sunday. The closure aligns with a rally organised by the Sarva Hindu Samaj and supported by the RSS.

Congress Raises Concerns Over Bangladeshi Workers
Meanwhile, the Congress party in Indore has demanded an investigation into Bangladeshi workers allegedly residing in the city without proper documentation.

Congress Seva Dal leaders have written to the Sarafa Market Association, urging a probe into the backgrounds of the artisans working in the market.

Market Associations Respond

The Sarafa Market Association, however, emphasised that it does not maintain records of artisans and that identifying illegal residents is the responsibility of the police.

The Bengali Artisans Association also clarified that most artisans in the market are from West Bengal, India, and any claims of illegal residents must be verified by authorities.

The planned market closure and the ongoing political discussions reflect growing concerns about the persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh and the presence of undocumented individuals in Indore.
