Indore: Man Held With Stolen Cash, Ornaments Worth ₹ 5L

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A man was arrested by the police for committing theft in a house in Vijay Nagar area. Cash and valuables worth Rs 5 lakh were recovered from the accused.

According to Vijay Nagar TI Chandrakant Patel, complainant Ruby Rathore, resident of Kalpakamdhenu Nagar, lodged a report that her house was burgled within 30 minutes when she had gone on the terrace to put the clothes in the sun.

She found that the main door lock was broken and household items scattered. Upon checking, she discovered that gold and silver jewellery along with cash were stolen.

"We immediately launched an investigation in the case and based on CCTV footage, we identified the accused as Deepak alias Gajni. A team was formed to nab the accused who was caught near Velocity Mall," Patel said.

Upon interrogation, Deepak confessed to the crime and revealed that he had hidden the stolen items at his residence. Police raided his house and recovered gold and silver jewellery along with cash worth Rs 5 lakh.

The accused, a habitual thief, has been sent to police custody for further investigation into his involvement in other cases. Many cases have been registered against the accused in various police stations.
