Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 'love jihad' case was registered against a youth at the Chhatripura police station for raping a girl for several months by hiding his true identity.
Police said that the accused Annas Ansari had allegedly befriended a girl by changing his name. He introduced himself as Annu Yadav and for eight months he raped her. When the girl came to know his real name and realised she had been duped, she registered a complaint against him.
Police said that the accused met the victim on social media, where he made his profile under the name of Annu Yadav. They became friends and the accused started dating her and then raped her.
Bajrang Dal officials were instrumental in getting the case of 'love jihad' against Annas.
According to Bajrang Dal's district coordinator Tannu Sharma, they caught Annas and the girl from Yashika Palace Hotel, near Gangwal bus stand. Sharma said they had been receiving complaints that Annas was raping Hindu girls by giving a false name. We kept an eye on him and caught him red-handed, Sharma said.
During this, Bajrang Dal activists had a dispute with the hotel manager and police have registered a case against the hotel owner.
