Indore: The Lokayukta police raided three premises of assistant engineer (AE) Devendra Kumar Jain posted in municipal council in Dhar in connection with a disproportionate assets case on Saturday.
A team led by DSP rank officers of Lokayukta simultaneously raided Jain’s government quarters in Dhar, a house in Kailash Nagar in Dhar and his house in Scheme Number 78 in the city, DSP (Lokayukta) Praveen Singh Baghel said.
During the search, the officials found that Jain owns 2 four-wheeler vehicles, 4 two-wheeler vehicles, about 500 grams of gold and 1 kg silver ornaments.
Documents indicated that Jain had amassed wealth disproportionate to his known source of income.
A case under the prevention of corruption act was registered against Jain and further investigation is underway.
Job profile: Jain was appointed as Deputy Engineer in Urban Administration Department in 1981 and was promoted to post of Assistant Engineer in 2019. Jain WAS previously posted as Sub Engineer in Municipal Council Dhar from 1995 to 2010. He is presently posted as an Assistant Engineer from July 2019 in Dhar. Jain looks after building permission, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and removal of encroachments in municipal council in Dhar. Jain was also posted as Sub Engineer in Rau Municipality from the year 2013 to 2019.
