Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Much to the delight of Indoreans, Khajrana Ganesh temple has cleared concerns about the purity of its 'Prasad', following allegations of adulteration in the TirupatiBalaji temple's offerings.  Reports of the samples taken by the food safety officials revealed that the Prasad and related food items sold at Khajrana Ganesh temple are free from any adulteration.

Officials had collected samples from the temple's food area, laddu manufacturing site, and 12 shops, including eight within the temple premises.  Items tested included laddus, ghee, flour, gram flour, dals, rice, and other staples. The first report, covering two shops, confirmed the purity of the Prasad on all parameters.

Further reports are expected within two to three days, including those from samples taken at Ranjeet Hanuman temple. Khajrana Ganesh temple holds global religious significance, attracting thousands of devotees daily, especially during festivals like Ganeshotsav. The temple committee distributes around 60 kg of laddu Prasad daily, ensuring it meets stringent quality standards.

The action of sample collection followed reports of alleged adulteration with animal fat and fish oil in the Prasad at Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati Balaji temple. To safeguard devotees' faith, authorities have initiated checks across temples nationwide. Chief food safety officer Manish Swami emphasised that inspections are ongoing to maintain the sanctity of temple offerings and uphold devotees' trust.
