Indore: Indian Institute of Technology goes online amid COVID crisis to host its 8th convocation

Indian Institute of Technology Indore is hosting its 8th convocation on Monday through online mode due to COVID-19 crisis.

Union Education Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ is the chief guest whereas minister of state of education Sanjay Dhotre is the special guest.

As many as 412 students will get degrees in various streams and courses at ceremony.

Out of the graduating students, 233 are BTech, 58 are MSc, 57 are MTech, 6 are MS (Research) and 58 are PhD. The BTech students include the first batch of 34 students and 31 BTech students graduating in Civil Engineering and Metallurgy Engineering and Materials Science respectively.

IIT Indore chairman Prof Deepka B Phatak will preside over the ceremony and Senate chairman Prof Neelesh Kumar Jain will award the degrees.
