A 33-year-old woman was critically injured after she allegedly jumped from the second floor of a hotel in Scheme Number 78 on Tuesday evening. It is said that she had checked in with her boy friend in afternoon. Her friend’s wife reached there when Sapna jumped from window. Her condition is stated to be critical and she is undergoing treatment in a city hospital.
Lasudia police station incharge Santosh Dudhi said incident took place at Hotel JMC Sky Inn in Scheme Number 78 at 5.30 pm. Injured girl identified as Sapna Patil, a resident of Kushwah Nagar, was in room number 208 on second floor. She jumped from the window in the front portion of the hotel where liquor shop is located. The police have collected clips from CCTVs installed in the liquor shop. It is being investigated whether she jumped or fell from the window.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Sapna is married but doesn’t live with her husband. She is employed in an insurance company in the city. She met Rupesh Bagorar of Revenue Nagar three years ago when he visited her house for insurance. After that, they became friends. On Tuesday, she was taken to hotel by Rupesh at 2.30 pm. Rupesh had booked the hotel room online.
They were in the room when Rupesh’s wife Priya along with brother reached there and made phone call to Rupesh. Knowing about Priya’s coming, Rupesh immediately reached downstairs when Sapna locked the room from inside and jumped from the window in an attempt to escape from there. She received critical injury. The liquor shop employees immediately informed the police after which she was rushed to Bombay Hospital. Her brother reached there after knowing about the incident.
Sources said Rupesh’s wife Priya suspected Rupesh’s relation with Sapna. She somehow traced Rupesh and reached the hotel after which she had an argument with Rupesh and Sapna. Rupesh tried to pacify her and took her downstairs when Sapna jumped from the window. Rupesh runs a milk parlour in Sudama Nagar.
Identity card manipulated?
During investigation, police came to know that Rupesh checked in the hotel with Sapna saying that she is his wife. He had mentioned her name as Priya Bagora there. Police suspect that Rupesh first manipulated Priya’s identity card and showed it to hotel employees.
He had possibly placed Sapna’s photo on Priya’s photo in voter identity card, got it copied, and presented it to hotel to check in. The police are investigating the case. The police have detained a responsible person from the hotel to know whether he had taken original identity proof of girl from Rupesh. Police have detained Rupesh also.
