Exporters of the region shared their problems with stalwarts of various export bodies during an open house session, ‘Meeting with exporters’ here on Wednesday. The exporters also sought help from the state government.  The meeting was attended by CGST Commissioner Neerav Kumar Mallick, Joint Commissioner of SGST Sudip Gupta, FIEO national president Ganesh Gupta, FIEO Director General Ajay Sahay and FIEO MP Convener Suber Rampurawala.

Over 150 exporters from the region took part in the day-long session. Expressing their concern, some participants demanded freight subsidy from the state government as Madhya Pradesh is a land-locked state. They also told the senior officials that exporters from other land-locked states used to get this benefit. The exporters also stated that the apathetic attitude of the state government hit them hard.

After hearing their concern, FIEO president Ganesh Gupta said that he would raise the matter before Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Thursday. Some exporters even stated that they did not receive ITC from the State government yet.  Sudip Gupta, Joint Commissioner SGST Department urged the exporters to raise their concern before the SGST Commissioner on Monday.

He told them that as per his knowledge there’s no pending case of ITC of exporters. However, he asked the exporters that they should inform the SGST Commissioner in this regard.  Some exporters suggested that the meeting of Export Promotion Committee headed by Chief Secretary was not held in this quarter. FIEO president said he would raise the matter before the CM.
