Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Following the peaceful completion of the IMC elections, 2,250 EVMs concealing the fates of 85 councillors and the next mayor of the city were put in strongrooms. Now, the strongroom will open on July 17, which is the counting day. However, upon returning of the polling personnel to the Nehru Stadium, they were welcomed with flowers and beating of drums.

After having their hands full of responsibilities in the midst of Tuesday’s torrential rain, the process of return of the polling personnel to the Nehru Stadium after participating in the festival of democracy throughout the day began around 6.15 pm. The first polling party reached the Nehru Stadium from the Alkapuri area of the Assembly constituency No. 5. The personnel were welcomed by the officials present at the Nehru Stadium.

The staff members of the team expressed happiness that they had reached Nehru Stadium first. The women polling personnel could not stop themselves from dancing to the beats of drums. The polling personnel were welcomed by offering flowers and showering flowers.

Just after depositing the EVMs back to the counters, the process of putting the devices in the strongroom built at the Nehru Stadium began immediately. This job continued till midnight. These will be brought out from the strongroom on counting day on July 17. The EVMs will be kept there amid tight security.
