Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday appealed to the voters to elect a BJP mayor for the speedy development of the city.
On the last day of campaigning for the civic polls in the city, CM Chouhan took out a roadshow and also addressed several small meetings. He said, “Choose the BJP candidate (Pushyamitra Bhargav) for mayor because the candidate from the opposition will cause hindrance in the progress of the city. He will not listen to the state government and will go in the opposite direction.”
He started his campaign from Pancham Ki Phel where he had lunch at a house of a local family there. Then he started his roadshow from Malwa Mill to Pardeshipura Square and addressed a public meeting. He then went to Bajrang Nagar, Musakhedi where he again addressed a public meeting. He also held a roadshow in the Navlakha area and held a public meeting in Amar Palace Colony.
During his address at Sheetlamata Bazar, the CM said that he will revise IMC's rules and regulations so that businessmen are not harassed and are able to carry out their business peacefully.
He promised to regularise illegal colonies in Indore and said every poor person will be either provided with a plot or a pucca house. Terming Indore as the “development engine of Madhya Pradesh,” Chouhan promised that the BJP will further develop the city and also make it secure for women.
Chouhan dubbed the Congress as "gayi-guzri" (of no value) party and claimed that during its (Congress) rule, it failed to develop the city.
The CM also asked the citizens to choose BJP corporators as they will be able to implement state government's policies and plans effectively.
