Indore (Madhya Pradesh): To improve the traffic situation in the city and make people aware of road rules, traffic management police launched a special drive at various places in the city on Friday. DCP (traffic) Arvind Tiwari presented flowers to people following traffic rules and wearing helmets.

During the drive, the traffic police took action against vehicle drivers. The offences included  using black film in cars, using hooters, wrong number plates, driving on the wrong side, jumping red light, tripling, using modified silencers, not wearing seatbelts, using mobile phone while driving or riding vehicles etc.

The traffic police made people aware of traffic rules and distributed flowers to those following the rules at Palasia, Radisson, Tower Square and Chanakyapuri Square. DCP Tiwari also talked to people.

A doctor at Palasia crossing stopped and explained the benefits of wearing a helmet. He expressed happiness at the flowers given by the DCP Tiwari and said that head injury was fatal and many people lost their lives as they drove without a helmet.

At Tower Chouraha, a man and his 6-year-old son were both seen wearing helmets. The traffic police appreciated this. Traffic police officers visited their areas and intersections and gave instructions to the officials engaged in traffic management.

Police also appealed to the commuters to cooperate in following traffic rules by making announcements at the intersections. During the campaign, Yatayat Prabandha Mitra were also with the traffic cops.
