Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Yet another feather added to Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV)’s cap as a proposal prepared by its Institute of Engineering and Technology for Chip to Startup (C2S) programme has been selected in first cohort announced in an event at Gandhinagar on Monday.
DAVV is the only university from Madhya Pradesh to be identified among the 30 institutions across the country.
“This is no small a feat for DAVV,” School of Electronics head Prof Abhay Kumar told Free Press.
The Central government is going in a big way in the domain of semiconductors. The Centre aims to make country Atma Nirbhar in chip design and become a major exporter.
The Centre has announced Rs 76000 crores scheme for this initiative and the scheme is called as C2S programme.
Under this C2S programme, proposals were invited by educational institutes under various categories.
Dr Vaibhav Neema, assistant professor at IET had also submitted a proposal (under category III) for the same.
“In an event concluded at Gandhinagar in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, first cohort of 30 recipient institutes was announced and DAVV is one of them. A total of 100 institutes shall be getting it in phases,” Kumar said.
A grant of Rs 86 lakh will be given to IET for the project of which Dr Neema is the principal investigator.
