Indore: The results of election of Indore parliamentary constituency is likely to be out by 10 pm on Thursday. The matching of Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) slip of five polling booths of each assembly constituency with EVM votes is new initiative of Election Commission, which will take extra time.
This will delay results. Besides, counting of postal ballots and votes in EVMs will begin simultaneously at 8 am. Earlier, the counting of postal ballots was held between 8 am to 8.30 am after which counting of votes from EVMs would start. Now that postal ballots and votes of EVMs will be counted simultaneously, which will save time.
This time will be spent on matching VVPAT slips with EVM votes of five booths of every assembly constituency. ANOTHER CHANGE Earlier, the counting of final round of votes did not start till counting of postal ballots finished. There is no such restriction now.
