Indore: 'Communication improves employee efficiency'

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): "Communicating effectively improves the productivity and efficiency of the employees and thereby enhances their personalities. Communication is the key", said Trilekha Pathak, an ESL trainer from British Council, while addressing a business communication workshop.

It was organised by Indore Management Association (IMA). There were around 15 companies like TATA International, NICT, Bakersville, Scan n Co. Symbiotic Pharma and many more & around 50 participants attended the 3-day session.

The session was moderated by Akhilesh Khandelwal, executive committee member of Indore Management Association (IMA).

Trilekha explained how to communicate effectively at the workplace by engaging participants in various communication activities. The session also included email writing tips, dos and don’ts. The participants learned about important phrases to write an email. They also wrote an email in the workshop using those phrases.

Trilekha also explained the importance of giving instruction the right way to get the work done. She explained how to begin and end the conference call while teaching basic telephone etiquette to the participants. She gave some useful phrases for talking over the phone at the workplace. The participants were made to practice the phrases through role-plays in the session. She made the participants understand how closed-ended questions can save their time and help in communicating effectively at the workplace.
