Indore: An insurance agent and his friend were arrested on Tuesday for circulating pamphlets that mentioned a girl’s name. They circulated pamphlets to blackmail a doctor, a resident of Tukoganj area. Accused had pasted the pamphlets at public places in city to defame and blackmail him.
The doctor who is a cosmetic surgeon lodged a complaint that unidentified people pasted pamphlets to defame him. He said pamphlets were pasted at hospitals, temples and public places on May 17-18, 2019, to blackmail him using a girl’s name.
Tukoganj police station incharge Tehzeeb Kazi said a case was registered against unidentified people on doctor’s complaint. A team was formed to investigate the case. The CCTVs installed near public places where pamphlets were pasted were checked to identify the accused.
The footage was shown to doctor who later identified the accused as Akshay Kasliwal of Vijay Nagar. After that police arrested him on Tuesday. Following the information given by Kasliwal, police detained his friend Golu who was involved while pasting pamphlets.
As per reports, accused is a relative of doctor. According to TI Kazi accused had a dispute with doctor over property issue due to which he committed such crime. However, the further investigation is underway. Doctor alleged that accused Kasliwal had earlier demanded money from him and he threatened him when doctor refused to give him money.
The accused has mentioned a girl’s name in the pamphlet. According to pamphlet, a girl alleged that doctor has raped her on the pretext of his surgery. Doctor told the police that the name mentioned in the leaflet is fictitious as he doesn’t know any girl with that name and no woman with same name taken the treatment from his clinic
