Indore : The NH-59 A Indore-Betul would be converted into a four-lane road soon. It would provide direct 4-lane service from Ahmedabad to Kolkata and also reduce the distance for the Eastern Metro.
Local MP and Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan gave these instructions during a meeting held at Residency, on Tuesday morning.
Mahajan also reviewed all road network of the Indore constituency. She instructed the NHAI officers to prepare an estimate for converting two-lane Indore-Betul NH-59 into 4-lane.
She also said that after conversion of the highway, it would provide direct 4-lane highway from Ahmedabad to Kolkata. Because, 4-lane work of Indore-Ahmedabad route is in progress and Betul-Nagpur and Nagpur-Kolkata road is also made 4-lane. If Indore-Betul road made 4-lane, it would reduce the distance from Ahmadabad to Kolkata by 250 km.
