Come March 31, the count of flights to New Delhi will be pegged at six, while there will be 1 each (flight) to Mumbai, Pune and for the first time to Vadodara too! Significantly, the debt-ridden Jet Airways is going to resume its flight operations to New Delhi and Mumbai in the summer schedule. Meanwhile, the national carrier Air-India is also set to start an additional flight to New Delhi from March 31.

It may be recalled Air-India is also set to roll out the maiden international flight from the city airport very soon. The summer schedule of airline companies comes into effect from March 25 each year. Airline cos file their schedule to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and after getting its nod, the carriers start their flight operations after March 25 as per their convenience.

Last year’s summer schedule is considered significant for the city airport in a sense that since March 25, 2018, the airport became 24X7 operational and also the number of flights doubled from 44 to 92. TK Jose, chairman MP-CG Chapter of Travel Agents Association of India informed that for the first time, Air Asia started its New Delhi flight from Monday from here. Jose said as a significant development, the cash-strapped Jet Airways is set to have seven flights from March 31, and bookings have also started and the response is huge from passengers. T

he private airline company will begin 4 flights to New Delhi, 1 each to Mumbai, Pune and Vadodara. The airline company is deploying a 68-seater ATR aircraft on the New Delhi, Pune and Baroda sector, while a Boeing would be deployed on the Indore-Mumbai sector. Due to the cash-crunch, Jet Airways flight operations on the Indore-Mumbai and Indore-Delhi sector was unscheduled. Despite this, its flights between Indore-Ahmedabad, Indore-Jaipur and Indore-Lucknow were operational.

As per the tentative schedule of Air India, the national carrier is also going start an additional flight to New Delhi from March 31. Also, there would be five new flights to New Delhi… four from the Jet Airways stable (From March 31) and one from Air Asia, which started today.
