Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Eight people sustained injuries after five vehicles collided on Khandwa Road under Simrol police station limits on Sunday evening. The condition of three of them is said to be critical. The accident caused traffic to come to a halt for around three hours.

Locals claimed that the incident occurred when a truck, reportedly heading from Indore towards Khandwa, lost control while trying to avoid a collision with a recklessly driven pickup coming from the opposite direction.

The truck first hit a car, then the pickup, and finally rammed into a passenger bus. Moments later, a traveller vehicle coming from behind also collided with the bus.

According to the police, the accident occurred around 7 pm at Nomil Tri-junction and caused significant damage to the truck, the bus, and the pickup truck, while the traveller and the car were also affected. All injured passengers were rushed to hospitals in Indore.

Traffic had to be rerouted through smaller nearby roads, which also became congested. Police continued efforts late into the night to clear the jam and gather information about the victims.
