Indore: 5 involved in multiple thefts arrested

Indore: Crime branch on Wednesday arrested a gang of five people involved in multiple thefts. Two gang members were arrested in Aerodrome area while others were arrested from different places. Accused are Manish (24) and Abhishek Jain (31).

During questioning, accused confessed that they broke into a sanitary ware shop near Khalsa Stadium in Chhatripura area two weeks back. The accused took away a laptop and other valuables. The accused also confessed that they were helped by accomplices Sharad Chauhan (22) and Rahul. Police arrested Sharad and recovered stolen goods from stolen from sanitation shop. Rahul managed to flee and police are still searching for him.

Accused Sharad, a resident of Vandana Nagar confessed that he was part of theft in Chhatripura area. He also confessed that with help from Abhishek, Rahul and Manish, he burgled a medical store in Malharganj area and took away Rs 11,000.  After interrogation, the accused confessed 10 thefts in different areas including Banganga, Aerodrome, Rajendra Nagar with help of other accomplices. Police then arrested Pankaj and Sarfaraz for burglaries.

The accused also confessed that they tried to cut ATM using gas cutters thrice in Rajendra Nagar and Khudel but failed. Abhishek Jain has a factory for making incense sticks in Samajwadi Indira Nagar where accused after recce planned theft. The police are interrogating accused to find other members of gang.
