Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The district administration ordered 16 more FIRs to be lodged against colonisers, builders, and landowners accused of developing and selling 813 illegal plots, in its ongoing crackdown against illegal land deals in Indore district. The estimated value of these plots is in excess of Rs 100 crore.
This is part of an ongoing campaign by the administration to dismantle unauthorized colonies mushrooming across tehsils.
So far, 57 FIRs have already been registered under the drive. Acting on the instructions of collector Asheesh Singh, additional collector Gaurav Benal has now ordered legal action in 16 additional cases.
An investigation by the district administration found that 11.665 hectares of land across the district was illegally converted into plots. Such illegal conversion has been found in several tehsils of the district including Depalpur, Mhow, Rau, Juni Indore, Sanwer, and Malharganj.
"These illegal colonies are not only a violation of urban planning laws but also put plot buyers at risk. The administration is committed to taking strict action,” said a senior official.
