Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Ten people were booked for duping some farmers of Rs 40 crores in name of selling organic products grown by them in foreign countries, a Crime Branch official said on Thursday. The accused had told the farmers to grow organic products as it would give them more profits.
According to Crime Branch, Prakash Arya, president of Bhima Nayak Krishak Utthan Samiti in Sendhwa, had lodged a complaint that the directors of two companies had told the Samiti members to grow organic products. They assured us that through these organic products, we can get a good price in foreign countries. The products were allegedly sold by the accused in the foreign countries but they didn’t give the profit to the members and they allegedly embezzled Rs 40 crore.
The police have registered a case against Himanshu Pathak, a resident of Khargone and director of one of the companies and Vivek Jain of Khargone the director of another company,Tushar Pathak, his wife, Vasundhara, Rekha, Dinesh, Nato Ambai of Gujarat, Kushal Patel of Gujarat, Arpit and Dilip Rathore under various sections of the IPC and started a search for them.
