Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A fully indigenously developed semiconductor chip named as "Maa Ahilya DAC Chip" was introduced on the occasion of Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar's 300th birth anniversary.

This chip is designed at Advanced VLSI LAB, Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), an entity of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalya and constructed by Semiconductor Complex Limited, Chandigarh.

The project received a grant amount of ₹96 lakh under the "Chip to Startup (C2S)" scheme by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.

"Maa Ahilya DAC Chip" is a Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC), which converts digital signals into analog signals. This technology plays a very important role in modern electronic devices such as mobile phones, medical devices, television, sound systems etc.

The chip, which is designed by Dr Vaibhav Neema and Dr Ravi Sindal, with key contributions from Rishabh Barjatya, Priyanka Sharma, Ashish Panchal, Astha Gupta, Amit Sahani and Sneha Nagar, is particularly useful for low power consumption (low power applications), especially in the field of biomedical devices.

“The chip is not just a piece of hardware — it is a symbol of technological self-reliance, academic excellence and a devotional tribute to the legacy of Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar,” said Dr Neema.

Present on the launch were urban development and housing minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, DAVV vice chancellor Prof. Rakesh Singhai, registrar Dr Ajay Verma, Dr Sachin Sharma and Professor Gadwal.
