Indore: IMC, in an attempt to garner public support will be distributing pamphlets which advertise dog sterlisation. Reacting to public complaints, which alleged that the dogs come back after being picked up by IMC officials said that picking up and dropping back the dogs from the place it was picked up is under their guidelines and they couldn’t change it on their own. It is to be noted that the IMC recently conducted a census of the stray dogs in the city and found at least 29,000 stray dogs in the city. Sources said that the IMC has chalked down the measures to be taken under the planned drive. Informing about the benefits of the drive the officials said that the dogs would be picked up and sterilized thus a stop could be imposed on their ever increasing population. Chances of rabies could be controlled through vaccination.
