Idol, car, jewellery recovered

Indore : City police on Monday nabbed an absconding leader of inter-state gang of burglars and recovered a Jain idol, jewellery and a car from the accused.

According to the police, they received information that a notorious burglar Kamal Nayak of Bhawani Nagar was perpetrating burglaries in the city with his associates— Santosh, Raju and Mukesh.

Acting on the tip-off, the police cordoned off the area and nabbed Kamal while his associates Santosh, Raju and Mukesh managed to escape.

The police recovered a Jain idol stolen from Aerodrome area 15 days ago, jewellery stolen from Dhamnod and a Wagon R car stolen from Bhopal from Kamal.

Kamal has several criminal records in the district and in Maharashtra and Gujarat and his brother Kishore who is also a notorious burglar is at present lodged in Godhara jail.
