Indore : The HoDs of MGM Medical College do not want to shift patients and equipment of MY Hospital to other hospitals for maintenance and pest control work.
In a meeting held here on Tuesday, they said that shifting of patients was not possible and it would affect treatment of the IPD patients as well.
As per information, Superintendent of MY Hospital Dr PS Thakur called a meeting with the HoDs to take their suggestions over the issue of emptying the hospital for pest control.
According to sources, the HoDs said that MYH is the biggest government-run medical facility in the State and it has OPD of 120 percent due to which it is not possible to shift all the patients to different places.
“Instead of shifting patients to other hospitals, the HoDs suggested to complete the work in floor wise or wing wise. They also said that major medical equipment would be damaged while shifting to other places and it would cost dear to the hospital administration,” sources said.
Another senior doctors of the hospital said that there is instant facility of handling mass casualty is available in the hospital and how it will be managed in other hospitals.
Some even suggested that they should wait till completion of construction of a new building of MT Hospital.
“One of the HoDs said that a company has completed the pest control work in Ambedkar Hospital of Raipur without shifting patients,” sources said.
Superintendent of MY Hospital Dr PS Thakur said that they had collected the documents and would present them in the meeting with the Divisional Commissioner on Monday.

After the meeting of HoDs, Dr Thakur went to meet Divisional Commissioner Sanjay Dubey and informed him about the suggestions.
Dubey also asked him to make a proposal to establish an SNCU in the hospital premises which will be funded by NRHM.
