DHAR : Rains continue to lash Malwa and Nimad region and Badnawar received maximum rainfall, 6 inches, in Dhar district during the last 24 hours. The district got 292.80 mm rainfall until now while it had received 145.50 mm rainfall in last year during this period. Badnawar has received maximum rain fall, 520.40 mm, in the district until now.
A report from Khandwa states that the soybean and crops has a new lease of life with rains which though came late but in abundance in entire Nimad region. Khandwa and adjoining areas have been experiencing good rains. The administration and the farmers alike are a relieved lot with the continuing rains.
Heavy rains since Monday night have brought much trouble for the Khachrod residents with water logging in several areas. Bargunda mohalla, Bhop Colony, Khari Meethi Baodi areas were badly affected due to water logging.
Water entered in many houses and shops in Ganesh Devli Sthan. Items in houses and shops were badly damaged due to rain water. Bohra cemetery was inundated as its boundary wall collapsed. The water logging was the result of drains and sewer lines being chocked. The municipal council had given a contract for cleaning of drains and sewer lines but the work was not done properly by the contractor.
