Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The teams of the food and drug administration department inspected shops selling protein powder and other food products to check their quality in the district.
During inspection, samples from seven shops were collected and a shop which was operating without a food licence was sealed. Simultaneously, the team also collected samples from school canteens and sent them to laboratory for test.
On the instruction of the district administration, three teams led by senior food safety officer Manish Swami were constituted to take action against establishments after finding irregularities there. The teams checked seven shops and took samples of protein powder.
Also, the shop named High Born Nutrition near Tower Square was sealed after the owner could not show a valid food licence to officials on Monday. The samples of some supplements were taken and a notice was also issued to the owner. The owner can open the shop only after showing the licence.
The officials also reached a protein manufacturing unit named AVE Life Science Private Limited on Nemawar Road and took two samples of two protein powders. The food samples were also collected from two schools- Podar International School and Model International School in the city and sent for test to the laboratory in Bhopal.
The teams of food officers Neeraj Shrivastav, Manoj Raghuvanshi, Avshesh Agrawal, Pushpak Dwivedi, Prabhulal Dodiyar, Alamelu PV, Vaishali Singh and Sharad Sahu inspected shops, factory and schools.
