Guna: 5 arrested for celebratory fire amid lockdown, had come from Gwalior for friend’s birthday

They told police that they came to Guna all the way from Gwalior to celebrate one of their friend’s birthday at Sisodiya Colony.

Guna (Madhya Pradesh): Police arrested five miscreants involved in celebratory fire amid ongoing pandemic and lockdown. The incident took place at Sisodiya Colony on an intervening night of Sunday and Monday.

The accused confessed that they fired gun shots to celebrate one of their friend’s birthday. Police arrested all miscreants on Sunday evening and produced them before court.

Police recovered one 315 bore gun and a fake identity card of a police constable.

Kotwali police station incharge inspector Madanmohan Malviya said those arrested are Piyush Tomar, 23, Girraj Sharma, 29, Deepak Rawat, 21, Deepak Sharma, 31 and Ashish Jha, 21, all residents of CP Colony in Murar in Gwalior district.

They told police that they came to Guna all the way from Gwalior to celebrate one of their friend’s birthday at Sisodiya Colony.

While the celebration was going on in the middle of road, Deepak Rawat took out Girraj Sharma’s licensed 315 bore gun and fired multiple rounds in air. It created panic in the area. Soon, all the miscreants fled to Bajaranggarh village, police said.

A local resident called the police and narrated the incident. Police swung into action, and closely watched all the CCTVs footages in the area. Police team put up pickets on the road to Bajaranggarh village and arrested them in evening.
