Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The district administration and Indore Municipal Corporation jointly launched a major anti-encroachment drive under Zone No 11.

The campaign carried out from RNT Marg (Regal Square) to Chhawni Square, and further up to Sapna-Sangeeta and Tower Square, clearing roads and footpaths of encroachments on Monday. In a parallel action, over 20 two-wheelers parked illegally in the airport area were also impounded.

The drive aimed to streamline traffic and restore pedestrian access on public footpaths. Many shopkeepers had encroached upon the pavements with items like tables, stands, banners, and foldable furniture, severely obstructing pedestrian movement.

During the operation, encroachments from five commercial outlets were dismantled. Authorities seized 51 two-wheelers and goods filling five dumpers. The confiscated items included banners, iron and wooden structures, commercial furniture, and other business-related materials.

The administration has issued a stern warning that illegal encroachments in the city will not be tolerated. Similar enforcement actions will continue to ensure smooth traffic flow and convenience for the general public.

The action saw active participation from senior officials including additional commissioner Rohit Sisonia, SDM Nidhi Verma, zonal and building officer Gitesh Tiwari, zonal officer Pallavi Pal, and the municipal removal team.
