FDA team collects samples of chocolate, choco powder and milk powder
Indore: A joint- team of the district administration and Food and Drug Administration ( FDA) Department raided a chocolate factory on Sanwer Road and seized about 7,000 kg chocolates, on Friday.
The action was taken against the firm following a complaint against it. According to Senior Food Safety Officer Manish Swami, the team led by Land and Record Superintendent Anil Banwariya raided S & N Confectioners Pvt Ltd and collected five samples— three samples of chocolates, one of choco- powder and one of milk powder. “ The team also seized 7 tonne chocolates from the unit as it was manufactured about eight months ago and no batch number. We didn’t get licence of the production unit as well, as firm owner informed us that he had applied for it on February 2, 2014,” he said. Swami further added that the seized product was manufactured when the production unit didn’t have licence of production.
“ We sent the samples to Bhopal laboratory for testing and actions would be taken after getting the reports. We are also consulting senior officers to take action against the seized products,” the food safety officer added.
