Employees to get SMS alerts of PF deposits

Indore : Aiming at providing immediate SMS alerts, Regional Provident Fund (PF) office has decided to inform the employees about deposits made into their account within 10 minutes after the employer submits it. Over 36 lakh employees will information about the deposits made into their account by 27800 employers from June.

The move is part of department’s plans to implement paperless working systems. Regional provident Fund Commissioner Ajay Mehra told Free Press that from May all the 27800 employees of the state have been asked to make the deposits of PF contribution online. “An employer has to deposit the contribution till 20 of next month; accordingly the employees will have to deposit the contribution online by June 20,” he said.

Mehra said we have evolved a system that as soon as the contribution will be made to the department, the employee will get SMS about the deposition of the amount with date and time. The PF Commissioner said out of over 36 lakh employees, about 80% have been covered under the Unique Identification Number (UIN) scheme. However, the department plans to raise this figure up to 90%.

Mehra said that for the new employees we are making efforts to take the bank a/c no, Aadhar no. PAN and other KYC documents, so that they get the faster and reliable service from the department right from the time they start their job.
