Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Divisional commissioner Deepak Singh has instructed the officers of the mineral department to speed up collection and achieve the revenue target within the stipulated time limit. He also directed them to settle the cases of illegal excavation within the time limit and bring down the cases of illegal transportation.
Singh gave these instructions during a review meeting of mineral officers of Indore division at the divisional commissioner’s office on Monday. Joint commissioner, revenue Sapna Lovanshi, regional head of mineral department NH Waghmare, deputy director Manu Dawar and departmental officers of Dhar, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Badwani, Khandwa, Khargone and Burhanpur were present in the meeting.

The divisional commissioner discussed the revenue received from the mines running in all the districts of the division, illegal excavation, illegal transportation and tax determination etc. Singh said that this time the performance of Indore division in revenue collection was good. In January, Indore division received a total revenue of 147.675 crore. Dhar, Jhabua and Alirajpur remained at first, second and third place respectively.
In January, Dhar district received a revenue of Rs 83.84 crore., Jhabua Rs 8.33 crore and Alirajpur Rs 4.575 crore. As many as 127 cases of illegal excavation were registered in the division, out of which 92 cases were resolved and an amount of Rs 87.823 lakh was recovered. As many as 987 cases of illegal transportation and storage were registered in the division, out of which 867 cases were resolved and Rs 921.11 lakh were recovered.
