Dhar: Violence erupts during election victory procession, 7 booked

According to TI Bhagchandra Tanwar, police have registered a case against seven people including winning candidate (Sarpanch) Kachru but arrests are awaited. Further action would be initiated as per medical reports.

Dhar (Madhya Pradesh): Tensions gripped Siyari village when violence broke out during a victory procession taken out by the winning candidate for the post of Sarpanch.

According to TI Bhagchandra Tanwar, police have registered a case against seven people including winning candidate (Sarpanch) Kachru but arrests are awaited. Further action would be initiated as per medical reports. As per details, the incident was reported from Siyari gram panchayat in Tirla tehsil of Dhar district. The third phase of panchayat elections was recently concluded here. Two candidates had contested for the post of Sarpanch from the village. As per polling agents, Kachru won the panchayat defeating Hirka. An elated Kachru took out a victory procession.

Meanwhile, a clash erupted between supporters of the winning and losing candidates causing severe injuries to about seven people from both sides ). The injured were rushed to the district hospital, Dhar during night hours. Four victims have been referred to Indore, owing to severe injuries.
