Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Customs Indore celebrated the International Customs Day with great joy and enthusiasm. Different activities were organised on this occasion. The chief guest of the event was Padma Shri Janak Palta McGilligan. Suvidh Shah, the development commissioner of SEZ Indore was the guest of honour.
The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp and a heartfelt Saraswati Vandana. The theme for International Customs Day 2025 is "Customs Delivering on its Commitment to Efficiency, Security, and Prosperity". This theme reflects the crucial role of customs in facilitating global trade and ensuring economic stability.

Chief guest, Padma Shri Janak Palta McGilligan, inspired all present with her remarkable journey dedicated to social transformation, environmental conservation and women’s empowerment. Her words strongly emphasised the importance of sustainable development and protecting our natural resources for future generations. Shah, Development Commissioner of the SEZ, Indore, also shared his valuable insights on the vital role of economic zones in promoting trade, fostering economic growth, and creating a business-friendly environment that supports industrial development.
The celebration also featured an engaging cultural program, with Customs officers actively participating in yoga, a Laghu Natya (skit), singing, and poetry recitation. These vibrant performances showcased their creativity and enthusiasm, adding an enjoyable and dynamic touch to the event.
